- The toys look very similar to the old Take Along models, but with a few colour and expression changes.
- The prototype of Kelly has TA Max and Monty's face with the TA breakdown crane's boom and cabin.
- The Sodor Supply Co. prototype had a steam engine's boiler on a truck, but it unfortunately was replaced by pipes.
- The Storybook Car's prototype had yellow magnets.
- Captain's model does not have a mast.
- The Knapford Station set has shed doors.
